WILD LIFE EMBODIES THE UNTAMED BEAUTY AND RESILIENCE OF NATURE'S WONDERS
For us, animals are a big deal. That is why or land conservation and habitat restoration efforts are done with animals in mind.
A STRUGGLE FOR SURVIVAL
Habitat loss is the primary cause of animal endangerment, however there are a multitude of other factors contributing to the problem.
GET TO KNOW SOME OF THE ANIMALS WE ARE WORKING TO PROTECT:
MONARCH BUTTERFLIES
At Raw Earth Foundation, we actively plant milkweed to support monarch butterflies. By intentionally cultivating this vital plant, we provide an essential habitat and food source for monarchs throughout their life cycle. Despite having a large area of coverage, milkweed populations are dwindling due to land development as well as from the use of agricultural chemicals. There is no need for this beautiful butterfly to be endangered. Raw Earth Foundation is working towards ensuring milkweed is in every neighborhood. We do this by growing milkweed plants and donating them to local communities. If you would like to help us with this project please reach out to get started.

PRARIE DOGS
Despite their endearing nature, Prairie Dogs often go unnoticed. Unfortunately, these innocent creatures are frequently viewed as pests and are exterminated by Mid-West Builders. Prairie Dogs are highly sociable beings, living in intricate underground communities. Their strong sense of community is truly inspiring, and encountering them is a delightful experience. While prairie dogs have not been labeled as endangered by the scientific community, it's essential not to wait until a species is at risk before taking action to protect them.
MANATEES
In our modern world, Manatees face numerous challenges that threaten their well-being. One major threat being thermal pollution from factories, particularly power plants. This as a result disrupts their migration patterns and leads them to overgraze areas causing some Manatees to starve and die. That is why Raw Earth Foundation advocates for alternative energy solutions and reduced energy consumption, particularly in Floridian communities where Manatees reside.
Another major threat they face is collisions with motorboat propellers. To address this issue, Raw Earth Foundation is developing an educational campaign focused on boating safety and the benefits of propeller guards. By raising awareness in communities that coexist with these gentle giants, we aim to not only protect marine life but also prevent fatal injuries to humans. We hope that our efforts will lead to increased usage of propeller guards in Florida, ensuring the safety of both Manatees and humans alike.
GRAY WOLF
The grey wolf, an iconic symbol of the wild, faces serious threats to its existence. Fortunately, the Endangered Species Act helps offer some protection and hope for their recovery, however we believe there is more to be done. We are advocating for the suspension of hunting altogether in areas where they roam, ensuring humans do not compete with them for their only viable food sources. Our goal is to give them the best shot at thriving in their natural ecosystems once again so that they do not become a thing of the past.
BEARS
Frequently, hungry bears venture into towns in search of sustenance, putting themselves at risk of harm from individuals who perceive them as threats. Moreover, excessive interaction with humans can lead to bears becoming overly trusting, making them vulnerable to capture by hunters and poachers. Raw Earth Foundation is committed to mitigating these risks by planting native food sources for bears in protected areas, reducing the need for them to seek food in urban environments. These food sources, including black walnuts, acorns, hickory nuts, huckleberries, and blackberries, provide essential nutrition. Our efforts are only possible with the help of our generous donors.
